Previously, SMBs had two choices when it came to implementing Wi-Fi®: they could go with SoHo APs, which are sorely lacking in terms of business features such as RADIUS authentication, captive portal, VLAN integration and QoS, or they could go with feature-full, but very expensive and difficult to configure enterprise-class APs. Plug and Play Configuration and Management
The WLCO Controller is easy to deploy and manage, with an automated configuration process designed for IT managers who want to quickly get their staff up-and-running. The administrator simply assigns an IP address to the controller, a name to the wireless network, and some simple security parameters to activate a secure network. The rest of configuration, including security and channel selection, is handled automatically. Anything that isn't automatic is template-driven. Decisions over advanced features like load-balancing and beacon interval can be configured once, and that template is then always available to the administrator in the future.
Future-Proof
The WLCO controller is technology agnostic. Data is handled by the network and the WLCO handles management. Today, you can deploy an 802.11 b g or n network with the WLAP access points; but as the next generation of APs and Wi-Fi capabilities become available, you'll be able to deploy them with only a software upgrade. The WLCO also provides seamless controller scalability — supporting environments as small as a few users and two APs to as large as 1000 users and 100 APs.
Enterprise-Grade Security
The WLCO wireless gateway enables SMBs to deploy genuinely secure networks without the burden of running separate authentication servers or other complicated network devices. The WLCO solution offers built-in RADIUS and captive portal functionality, 802.1x authentication, separate guest networks and prioritized traffic.
Toll-Quality Voice and Seamless-Roaming
The WLCO solution provides out-of-the box support for toll-quality voice and fast, seamless roaming. The product supports up to 75 toll quality calls on a single access point, and enables clients to roam freely, even across switch and router boundaries, and irrespective of the subnet to which the AP is attached.
